After-Life: Bruce and Brandon Lee

[A Personal Note: As I am posting this, I have to say that ken wilber has been on my mind (I've been reading Grace and Grit for the first time, his recent accident, and his current state of health (and complete recovery hopefully), and his long struggle with a devastating chronic illness, that I share and understand - experientially and empathetically so - because of my own personal struggle and experience with the same illness (CFIDS/MCS).]
Even though this post had nothing to do with these thoughts mentioned above, after re-reading it, I realized the quotes I used (in hind-sight/fore-sight?) reflect what I would tell myself (I am currently having a severe relapse), and what I would want to share with kw. However, unlike me, he has no doubt already achieved 'immortality' through his body of work and just be-ing kick-ass kw. ;-) And his awe-inspiring work, may indeed be used as a guide towards personal liberation for those who wish it to be so. - mu]

Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one. - Bruce Lee
In 2001, my best friend and I visited the graves of Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Lee and Brandon Lee. Bruce and Brandon's graves are next to each other in the quiet, quaint Lakeview Cemetery on top of Capital Hill (Seattle, WA) overlooking beautiful Lake Washington.
There was definitely an interesting 'energy' around these graves. I'm not sure what it was - inviting and peaceful maybe, something just made you want to take off your shoes, sit cross-legged on the ground, enjoy the breeze, and stay awhile. (Apparently lots of visitors who go to the site stay for the same reasons - the grass used to have to be replaced every four months).
The bench that sits facing the graves has this inscription:
"The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering." - Brandon Lee
While we were there, a young artist sat on the ground with a large piece of white paper tracing the etching of the inscription on the elder Lee's grave marker - an open book with the yin/yang symbol, and the words,
“May Your Inspiration Guide Us Toward Our Personal Liberation.”
Maybe it sounds kind of weird, but the memory of that day, that visit, the energy at the graves, and the artist tracing the yin/yang symbol is a memory that will be etched on my heart and mind for a long time.

Another trivia tidbit: Kurt Cobain's ashes were refused at Lakeview Cemetery on the grounds that they already had their hands full with Bruce and Brandon Lee being buried there and they couldn't 'take on another celebrity'.
